Fulton County, New York, sits between the Albany Capital District and the Adirondack Park. The largely rural county is within easy reach of Albany, Saratoga and other popular destinations. Often referred to as the gateway to the Adirondacks, Fulton County is well located to draw visitors and consumers from a number of distinct consumer groups. But how would potential consumers find out what local food growers and producers have to offer?
I developed a marketing and communications campaign structured to reach and influence target consumers to become customers and advocates for Fulton County’s agricultural products and agritourism experiences.
Titled “Food & Farms Fulton County: Tasting is Believing”, the county is positioned as an under-the-radar food destination which consumers can discover, steeped in natural beauty and American history. Elements of the campaign include a website with an interactive map which invites visitors to blaze their own trail and curate their perfect day in Fulton County.
In addition to building Fulton County’s recognition for excellent fresh-to-market products, the campaign
increases Fulton County’s reputation as a nearby beautiful escape, sweeping from the Mohawk Valley to the foothills of the Adirondacks.
